Years ago, while I was working at Breitenbush Hot Springs, a woman did a series of sessions with me that became life-changing for her. Being at a healing resort in the Oregon mountains, drinking pure water, eating organic food and soaking in lythium-infused water, all added to her healing experience. Long-held tension, habituated postural patterns and painful childhood memories, all began to shift as she opened to the possibility of being in her body and in the world in a new way. At home she was in the business of teaching Mindful Design to entrepreneurs. One day she exclaimed “Brigitte, you don’t do deep tissue work, you do deep transformational bodywork! That’s what you need to call what you do!” While I was at first hesitant to take on that name for my bodywork practice, I must admit it started sounding like something I could embrace. So I did.
